Nigeria-Colombia Friendly Under Threat

Written by Bolaji Oyegunle, London
THE much-publicised international friendly between Nigeria and Colombia slated for May 26 is under threat as the authorities of Upton Park, West Ham playing ground, insist the match will not go on unless the organisers pay up.

Saturday Tribunesports gathered in London that West Ham says it expect organisers to conclude payments for the usage of Upton Park latest by yesterday.

Our source told us that both parties were still holding consultations late into yesterday's night but it was not clear if the organisers were prepared to meet West Ham deadline.

It was gathered that only The Hammers were ready to lease their ground for the international friendly.

Meanwhile, tickets for the May 26 game are still on sale despite the deadlock over payments.
